JIMMY LEE MUSIC...... Jim Owen has surprised many people recently when he revealed he is now writing country and gospel music.  Because there is already a very well known country music artist named Jim Owen,  this Jim writes his music under his childhood given name of Jimmy Lee Owen and has already turned out some great hit songs!  Problem is they just haven't been discovered yet.

Jim Owen (Jimmy Lee) has always been known as a very creative person but that creativeness has been directed to marketing in his real estate and auction businesses along the way earning him numerous advertising contest and sales awards including first place in a nationwide TV advertising contest.  Due to the 2008 slump or we should say crash of the real estate market Jim got pretty down ad out mentally and worried that his creative juices had dried up.  However in seeking the help of a higher power he was suddenly given the inspiration he could and would write country and gospel music, an endeavor never considered before. Thus the creative juices had returned not only to Jim Owen but now Jimmy Lee Owen was writing; that first night when the inspiration hit about 4 hours were spent in the early morning hours writing lyric ideas.  About the same time Jimmy Lee had a chance meeting with the famous country music artist Neal McCoy and with Neal's advice Jimmy Lee joined NSAI, Nashville Songwriters Association International which is a wonderful source for advancing Jimmy Lee's songwriting abilities.  Jimmy Lee recently attended a NSAI sponsored songwriters workshop where he studied with such noted songwriters as Jason Blume (songs have sales over 50 million) Chuck Cannon (writer of many Toby Keith hits) and the legendary Mac Davis and has recently had his first lyric submission critiqued by NSAI.

While Jimmy Lee now lives in Gunter, Texas (50-miles north of Dallas) he grew up in West Virginia where he developed an appreciation for mountain music, bluegrass music as well as Southern gospel. There is other musical talent in Jimmy Lee's life.  In his teenage years Jimmy Lee was known to be a pretty good drummer, Skip Owen Jimmy Lee's mother  is a talented singer often singing in Church and in her early years was a Violin player (I prefer to say Fiddle but she prefers Violin),  Jim's oldest son Jonathan is an accomplished photographer, web designer and he too is a songwriter, the middle son Jason has written and performed some outstanding piano works and youngest son Chris is an outstanding Bass player and his rock band is making a name.

Jimmy Lee has recently turned out lyrics for two songs, I Can't Believe She Let You Go, and A Sound So Quiet.  Hopefully someday soon you will hear a hit song and be able to say "Hey ole Jimmy Lee wrote that one"!
